I HEARD A VOICE FROM HEAVEN

i didn't think i was going to post until the OWOH (one world one heart) was over, but since i finished a new piece, i thought i would.  although i post on fb, i also like to post more detailed pics here.  if you want to see what i'm offering for the OWOH and enter, just scoll down to the next post.
i title this painting "a voice from heaven"

and the completed piece...i used a little pen, oil pastels, and music sheets over acrylics.
here it is in earlier stages on my easel...yes, that's a landscape in back of it.  actually two of them...both unfinished.
almost done...still working on the music sheets.  they were actual vintage sheets from a choir book.
here is the finished painting on my wall...
oh, and here is the picture i found online that inspired me.  i think it was a photo.  if anyone knows anything about the photo, i'd love to know!

What a beautiful painting! I first saw the original print on The Graphic Fairy blog. She called her "singing lady" and had found her in an old art book with a musical theme. No artist was listed. It was a "free image" in a September 2008 post. Hope that helps.

thank you all...and Nita, when i found it online it was just titled singing lady too. i don't think i found it on the graphic fairy though...may have just been google images, as i was looking for something to do with music. it was just a black and white and i really can't tell if it was a photo or a painting.

What a beautiful piece! I love to see how it came together. Using real sheet music is a fantastic touch. It looks beautiful on your wall. Do you seal oil pastels with something? I love how they look!

this is my favorite (i think) of yours!! it has an ancient soul, like a primitive warrior spirit saintly angelic martyr of the faith feel. i've gotta get a print of that one! get ready for a booth at a show, or do a gallery presentation!!
you've got a slew of good ones piling up now sis!!
love you!!
