A FOURTH OF JULY WEEKEND AT THE BEACH...

We went to the beach for the Fouth of July weekend, and had a great time!  Not only was the weather actually feeling like summer on the beach (during the day, anyway), but the beach celebrated the 4th of July on the 3rd of July...and the people with all of their own fireworks celebrated it on both the 3rd and the 4th of July!  So we had TWO nights of fireworks spectacular!!!
The first night we walked along the boardwalk to the beach, made a bon-fire and smores and watched the fireworks go off all around us!  We had our own, but they didn't compare with all the others!  People brought fireworks that rivaled the professional ones, and we were amazed at how many and how big they were!
These were taken from our room on the second night...the actual 4th of July.  They were some that people on the beach were setting off.   It went on for hours, and we could just watch from our deck.  My daughter said she overheard someone saying that they paid over $600 for the fireworks that they brought!  And it went on like this up and down the whole beach...BOTH nights!  We loved it!
I loved what I called "the eye of the needle" on the right side of the rock...
The rocks were such a beautiful ochre color!
The tide pools were AMAZING!!!  It just makes you realize how truly blessed we are to have all of this around us to explore and stimulate our senses.  I have seen tide pools before...I have lived close to beaches while I was growing up...but it can still amaze you, and you can still see it will new eyes if you allow yourself.
And going to a new beach, which we did, was so fun.  To see areas we hadn't been to, take walks, climb hills, and just enjoy LIFE!!!
We saw so much that I want to share...and will show you even more in another post.  Since my e-course ended, I plan on painting more as well, and will post as I do.  Until then...

Lovely pictures! Sigh...I need to plan a coast trip very, very soon. Your pictures have made me miss it even more than I already was.

What a lovely post you have. I love going to and being at the beach. I also am in awe and inspired by your artwork. It has been a joy to have been a part of flying lessons and all that it has bought into our lives for having done so.
